Cass Allen provided noise, vibration, and dust monitoring during the work stages that generated the highest emissions at the request of the Local Planning Authority to help the contractor minimise impacts to nearby dwellings.

Cass Allen have been instructed to help London Square manage noise impacts from construction works for the redevelopment of the former Holloway Prison in North London.
This had included assisting with negotiating and satisfying noise related targets imposed by Islington Council. This exciting scheme will provide ~1,000 new homes with 60% to be genuinely affordable. The Scheme also includes a new ‘Women’s Building’, which will provide much needed services and support to local women as well as acknowledging the historical suffering of former women inmates at the prison.

With the hotel remaining open to guests throughout the renovations, precise alert systems were set up to monitor noise, dust, and vibration to ensure compliance throughout this challenging phase of works.

Cass Allen provided construction monitoring for this new £163M office development near the centre of Cambridge. Cass Allen provided long-term noise and vibration monitoring at the site boundaries for compliance with planning requirements and Bouygues own environmental standards.

Cass Allen was appointed by MCD Heritage Ltd to monitor vibration levels in the artefact storage rooms, whilst repair works were taking place in several underground tunnels below the museum. We were really pleased that all the museum artefacts remained safe and sound, and the measured vibration levels during the works remained compliant with the museum’s criteria.

Cass Allen was instructed to monitor dust and noise levels throughout the construction phase of the development as part of planning condition requirements. The monitoring is currently ongoing with sensors around the site providing real-time measurement data. Monitoring started in February 2017 and is anticipated to last until July 2018. Monthly reports are being provided to site management and any exceedances trigger SMS and email alerts sent to key site staff so that appropriate action can be taken on-site to demonstrate best practicable means.

The refurbishment and re-modelling were completed over a 4-year period, where careful monitoring throughout was necessary due to the proximity of nearby residential dwellings.
